A legacy we’re proud of

For several years, SimpleClick was the team behind Do Good Networking, an ethical business networking group based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The idea was simple: bring local businesses together, roll up our sleeves and support charities with hands-on projects, all while building genuine relationships.

Our story: Do Good Networking

Do Good Networking was launched in 2019 after SimpleClick discovered and fell in love with the concept of ethical business networking.

2016

I Roll Up My Sleeves

We had previously sponsored and later purchased I Roll Up My Sleeves, an innovative networking format that supported local community projects and charities.

2018

Do Good Networking is born

Rebranded Do Good Networking, we arranged monthly events where you left your suit behind, picked up a spade or a paintbrush and spent a morning helping those who needed it, alongside like-minded business people.

2019

Launch event with Emmaus

Kicked off in style with our first event with Emmaus, and finished the year with Christmas present wrapping for the Colchester & Ipswich Hospital Charity. We were also featured on BBC Suffolk Radio and BBC Look East!

2020

Started well, then Covid...

Before the world stopped, we managed to sneak in a couple of events for Emmaus and Age UK Suffolk. But like the rest of the World, we took a break and concentrated on planning our return.

2021

Bouncing back

Our unique format of combining networking and outdoor activities allowed us to ease back with socially distanced events with Genesis Orwell Mencap and Emmaus. It was great to be back up and running.

2022

Supporting hard-hit Charities

With the cost-of-living crisis hitting the UK hard and charities feeling the pinch, we provided help to the RSPCA, Genesis Orwell Mencap, Headway Suffolk, St. Elizabeth Hospice, Ormiston Families, ActivLives, and Suffolk Pickles!

2023

Continuing the good work

With the cost-of-living crisis still biting hard, Do Good volunteers continued to make a difference while building valuable business connections.

2024

Signing off in style

Our last full year of events saw us making a difference at Emmaus, EACH, ActivLives, RSPCA, Genesis Orwell Mencap, and the University of Suffolk Student Union.

Our last event

We didn't know it at the time...

Helping the University of Suffolk Students' Union prepare for Freshers' Week turned out to be our last event.

Who we supported

From gardening and painting to sorting stock and tidying community spaces, every event combined purposeful work with relaxed, human conversations while supporting local charities.

We had a lot of fun along the way

Offered an alternative to traditional networking. No stuffy rooms, no hard sell, just people doing something useful together and building real relationships.

Do Good's legacy

For us, the legacy of Do Good Networking lives on in three key ways:

1. Proving that business networking can have purpose

We saw first-hand that people are more engaged and more themselves when they’re working together on something meaningful, not just swapping business cards.

2. Strengthening our commitment to community

Supporting local causes is now baked into how we think about our role as a business, not a side project.

3. Long-lasting relationships

Many of the connections forged through Do Good Networking continue today between businesses and the charities they helped.

Doing good at SimpleClick, what’s next?

Do Good Networking may have closed, but our belief in using digital and business for good is very much alive.

At SimpleClick, we continue to:

  • Commit to at least one team awayday every year with a local charity to Do Good
  • Encourage our team to get involved in volunteering and community initiatives that interest them
  • Partner with clients whose values align with making a positive impact
  • Keep our environmental impact to a minimum
