Case Study : Career progression at SimpleClick

Website Developer

Tyler initially studied Computer Science at University before teaching himself web development technologies and joining the SimpleClick team as a Junior Developer in August 2017 focusing on making front-end changes and emends to websites before acquiring the skills to build backend modules and functions.

Learning from the best.

Working as part of a supportive team who were always on hand to assist and answer any questions was crucial to his career development. The saying “there are no stupid questions” is a vital part of the development team’s approach to not only mentoring new hires, but their communication as a whole. This is made clear from day one. It’s this inclusive and supportive environment, coupled with increasingly challenging and complex projects which enabled Tyler to be promoted to a mid-weight developer in just 12 months.

My time at SimpleClick has catapulted the trajectory of my career and I couldn’t think of a better company to join at the start of my career.

Learning new skills.

For Tyler, learning and training opportunities is something that’s incredibly important for his career development. SimpleClick has been able to provide not only the access, but the dedicated time to study a number of different courses. In addition to this, Tyler was also able to travel to Paris for the two-day DotJS conference where he attended talks from industry experts on all things JavaScript.

Looking to the future.

Speaking of his time at SimpleClick, Tyler says “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work for a company who has been nothing but honest, transparent and understanding in everything they do. It’s clear that SimpleClick is a company that truly believes that their employees are their most important asset and one that they invest heavily into. My time at SimpleClick has catapulted the trajectory of my career and I couldn’t think of a better company to join at the start of my career.”

Outside of work, Tyler was an active member of company socials and events, with some of his favorites being a day trip to Thorpe Park and running a muddy 5-mile obstacle course race.
