2019 was a very busy year for SimpleClick and there is no doubt in my mind that each and every member of our team has had a valued contribution.
If it were down to me alone I would struggle to handpick one member of the team for this accolade. Luckily SimpleClick Star isn't down to me, it's earned through nominations from the team, often votes are for small things that could otherwise go unnoticed by me but have a huge impact behind the scenes.
The SimpleClick star for December was Rachel Cooke! Rachel was nominated by her colleagues for her great work on Doddle, being flexible and helpful in making styling changes. For taking on extra responsibilities, for organising developer work during release time, and generally being a great asset to the team.
Once the votes for December's SimpleClick Star were counted and awarded, I collated the votes for the whole year. What was interesting to see was the number of votes cast, and how close it was in the end. Hot on Rachel's tail in joint second place by a mere 2 votes is Tyler and Matt Stringer. The rest of the team wasn't that far behind, this I found to be really encouraging and reinforced my thoughts about how great the team and how supportive they are of each other.
Now we've started 2020 and I always find this time of year energising. In my mind, a New Year equates to a fresh start, a renewed focus on long-standing goals as well as new opportunities and, inevitably, challenges. None of this can be achieved without a team that supports each other, and the SimpleClick Star enforces this.
Well done Rachel, well deserved and well-done team for a great 2019!
